The Social Security Administration recently held a second hearing regarding compassionate allowances for cancer cases. Discussions were based on the difficulties cancer patients have in navigating through the social security process and obtaining medical treatment. Many times there are time gaps in medical treatment because physicians are waiting for test results. Also, cancer patients usually are evaluated by various types of experts. Therefore, the Social Security Administration is now researching ways of trying to expedite cancer related cases and get Colorado cancer patients their social security disability benefits.
